Ditz
As it was pointed out several times last week—I am blond (at least for this month).

I don't necessarily buy into the stereo-types that may befall one because of the color of one's hair—though all that dye could do things, but
whatever—I have been rather ditsy lately. I mentioned to my mother recently that I don't remember being such a dipshit (though I would never have used that actual word as she is ever so sensitive {snort}) when I was a child. As a matter of fact, if nothing else, I was way too serious (can even say that I have been accused of this as of late too, but the ditz wars, and wins often, over the tight-ass).

ANYHOO—my dear sweet mother, who I often defer to in times of uncertainty—if nothing else to argue with—tells me it is a defence mechanism for mothers. WTF? I thought she was kidding, but she goes
on to explain it's basically a way for mothers with young'uns to keep from going crazy. hmm . . . maybe . . .

Some of it is, I think, that I have so much stuff running around in my
mind (shirtless cabana boys, shirtless (or frankly any way I can take him
and OH I WOULD SO TAKE HIM anywhere he wants to go) Mr. Country
Himself, editor/agent requests, shirtless pool boys—I sense a theme)
I cannot stay focused. I joke of writers ADD but it may stem from
something else—something more sinister, something
—ooh look at the pretty.
As case in point: (I had to laugh) Sunday morning while waiting for the bellcap, bellman, dude with the push cart thingie—whatever the hell he's called—to collect our luggage, Eve says something to me. I look at her and say, "huh?"

She said "I am finishing you sentence." Apparently I was talking and just stopped mid-sentence and started watching TV—DOH!

It drives me crazy when I act like a ditz—it's almost like being drunk and having no control over yourself, but you're not and you see it coming but can't help but look stupid. And then admit to it in public . . . SHEESH!

Denise, you're not a ditz. Just lovably quirky. :-)
