Squeaky clean
So inspired by Eve – I cleaned my desk/office area. Can you believe it Sandy? (And kicked the kids out to the family room – that way we can watch what website they are on too!) I should have taken a “before” picture, but forgot to – but if you scroll down to the pic of Mini-me at the computer you can kind of see what the desk looked like prior. Note: that pink sticker reads “ROMANCE WRITER” … Positive reinforcement!

I have everything set up, so there shouldn’t be anything keeping me from cranking out the next sold book. I’ve got the boys pics all over; my “I Love Lucy" calendar; Princess Leia, Bratz & Madame Alexander toys and let's not forget the Kim Possible naked mole rat; a cabbage patch doll and 42 notepads.

That bookcase is new. I am trying to be more organized (and not use all the tray tables in the house to hold my stuff).

You can see the progression around the room.

I have a lot of books (those postal tubs are full of books for the Yellow Rose contest).

What you can’t see are the seven or so boxes of books under my bed (I am not stupid enough to take a camera in there).

That’s my Momma – ain’t she cute?!?!

What? More books?!?!?

And yes, that is an Air Hockey table in my living room – thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
(That would be Spare + 1’s arm as he stands on my chair – sheesh! – boys!)

And that brings you around my desk/office ** formally known as the dining room (though, we always had the desk in there and never a table, so…)

I hear the kiddos bathroom is in need of cleaning {shudder}

It took me less time to clean than to get online and post the dern pictures (I ended up having to plug in the dial-up – sheesh!)

And what was wrong with it before??Just when I decided I was going to stop worrying about cleaning!

Sandy - you have to come over and see it - it's all clean - please hurry before the boys wake from their stupor and realize there are no toys in any of the family rooms...

and I just want to point out - the book cases ... are two deep. What you see is the second layer of books - there are books behind them all. I catalogued them all (yes, I have nothing better to do) and I have almost reached the 1000 book mark - woohoo! - yes, I have a book-buying problem - well no problem really, as it comes to me quite easily.

ROTFL!!! It looks great!
1000 books! That is quite a treasury. Don't let your DH know 'cause do the words 'ebay' ring a bell?

I am trying to guess which heir/spare has their arm near the air hockey table. If I win can I have another pen? LOL! Just kidding.

But I did plug your book to the girl I know who is an avid reader and is always asking me for some good suggestions. She is really interested and intrigued and I told her I would remind her when it comes out in...drum roll please... only 9 days!

My name is Eve and I am a bookaholic ...

Looks great Dennie - I still need to work on the rest of my room (Yikes) - need to take some more before pictures so people can really appreciate this effort. Watch, I'll get this all done by the time Bebo gets moved out and then I'll have to do it all over again!

Looks good Chick! Bravo!!!!

God, Dennie, you inspire me. 95% of all my books are still in boxes. (from our blasted move that was like what?- 15 months, 2 weeks and six days ago. But who's counting?)

Good job, Dennie...did you do this to procrastinate at writing??? LOL

Does that mean that now I have to clean my office! Yikes....you could have started a trend...egads, I'd rather go clean the three fish tanks!

Sj - #3

eve - I forgot about the 20 or so reference books and the 30 I have on the computer - sheesh!

Mary - but I haven't moved recently ... but 15 months?!?!?

Bonnie - if it makes you feel better - I got extremely ill afterwards - so moral to the cleaning - it makes you ill!

The images don't load in RSS, so I had to wait until today to see your clean up! It looks good, Dennie, and neater than my space here on the couch, which is currently covered with cats, cat hair, newspapers and swim gear.

Mary Dee, don't feel bad. When we moved here I didn't unpack all the books for about 2 years.

Dennie, how did you get sick? Was it respiratory? You need a sinus irrigator!
