It's really no wonder that my kids, okay and me, too {SNIFF} get sickly this time of the year. Yesterday, it was 80 degrees. I sweated down at the Stockyards Christmas where we handed out the Trinity Writers' Christmas book and helped kiddos write letters to Santa. But later that night when I left my Yellow Rose Christmas party it was 35-ish and today the high is only supposed to be 50. By Wednesday, the high is not going to reach 40. Sniffles anyone?
It reminds me of a poem from a kid's show the boys used to watch, Maurice Sendack's
Little Bear:
Whether the Weather is cold,
Or whether the weather is hot,
We'll weather the weather,
Whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not.
I went down to NY City this weekend and walked my girlfriend all around, Macy's, Sak's, Fifth Ave, the Library, Time Square, 42nd St and I even found a book fair where Susan Weinman from the Galleycat blog was speaking.
But I say all that to say.....cold, it's very cold outside in NY!
But this is Texas. You can swim one weekend in March and the very next weekend it snows - true story, happened my junior year in high school!
At about this time of the year, I'd take Texas!
