Hugs and Prayers
I am sure so many people are touched by Hurricane Katrina. I am so sad every time I watch the news (and I am a total news junkie).

I just found out today that my boys Pack leader was in Mississippi when she hit. He works in communications and was sent ahead of time to help restore service after the storm. To say he's had a rough time is the understatement of the year! He has seen things no one should ever have to see - and I am sure it is edited some for his wife's sake. He has to drive to Florida just to refill his tank and that of his generators for his work. He has slept in his car, not showered and food is scarce. Yet, from what I hear, he hasn't complained one whit - his wife not quite so sure of the situation but doing what she can to brave it out in front of her kids. But he has them and his home to come back to.

I can't even image what those who lost everything have faced and will still face in the time to come.

My heart and many, many prayers go out to these people. I wish I could do more, but what? I plan to take clothes to one of the shelters in my area that are housing people once things settle some. There is a blood drive this weekend that I plan to go to - don't know if that will help or not, but I feel helpless to do anything else.

All I know is I have hugged the kids extra tight, patted the dogs once or twice more than usual and appreciate even paying the electric bill - could you image being thankful for that!?!?!?!

Definitely put things in perspective! We couldn't decide what to have for dinner the other night until we realized that there are so many that don't have that option. My prayers to all of them.
